COVID-19 and Personal Finances

January 2020, the United States of America saw its' first SARS Co-Var 2 cases in Washington State. There were 15 COVID-19 infections in the Washington State nursing home and no one imagined that we would experience this type of decline in the economy.

By March, many states implemented "shelter-in-place orders" which effectively killed the economy and many Americans lost their jobs, insurance, and income. On April 22, 2020 unemployment was over 25%!

Although the CARES ACT provided a stimulus payment to many middle-to-lower income households, the longer the people stayed at home, the tougher it became to put food on the table and pay for ordinary expenses like rent, car notes, and utilities. In fact, many households continue to struggle because of furloughs, delayed unemployment compensation, and lack of new employment opportunities. Those hit hardest have been our essential workers.

For those of you that have lost your jobs, we are here for you. For those of you that cannot pay for food, medicine, or basic needs, we are here for you. Call our office today to discuss your financial future. We offer a free 30 minute consultation to all essential workers and a reduced attorney fee to help you through this time. Call 330-940-9914 for a confidential evaluation of your finances.
